Native Forest Vegetation East-central IL

Please assist in the identification of forest understory vegetation in Central IL. I know from NRCS soil survey maps that the soil in the area of interest varies from Sabina Silt Loam to Xenia Silt Loam.

My goal is to landscape a new park structure within a forest with the above type soil with plantings that blend in with the natural vegetation. I desire to obtain compatible small trees, bushes and grasses for this purpose. Thank you for the consideration.
