Which Species to Plant (IN)

We are needing to plant a row of tress for privacy and windbreak. Full Sun and always breezy. My wife would like to plant Baby Blue Spruce which from your postings you do not care for. We also like the Douglas Firs, but have been cautioned away from because of a disease. Any other suggestions?

Hi John: I would encourage you to work with an Indiana USDA NRCS staff member or a local Indiana DNR district forester for assistance in choosing the most appropriate tree species based on your location, planting site, and soils. Their contact information can be found on the Web! Best of luck!
