Planting Black Walnut in Alabama

I am thinking of planting about 40 acres in black walnut trees. I have done some research and found that the Purdue #1 is a possible good choice. Are there other black walnut farms in Alabama? Is there a market to sell them here? Does anyone have experience with the Purdue #1?

Hi Bonnie:

I strongly encourage you to work w/ a local Alabama state forester because local knowledge always prevails -- especially when it concerns planting and managing eastern black walnut!
