How to Obtain Free Seedlings from IDNR Nursery?

Can you please let me know how to obtain free trees and shrubs from the state of Illinois. Please e-mail me the criteria that I must meet for this service. Thank you, Randy Johnson

Hi Randy: The State of Illinois no longer offers "no cost" bareroot seedlings from its two tree nurseries due to significant budget and staffing cuts within IDNR's Division of Forest Resources. Therefore, you will need to procure shrub and tree seedlings from a private nursery or order them "at cost" from the IDNR nursery.
