For the past ten years my very mature white oak trees have produced and over abundance of acorns. Last year they went wild, acorns everywhere. This year none. I have three white oaks and none produced acorns. Are my trees sick?

Hi Deborah:
This is very common after a "bumper" mast crop. Coincidentally, the exact same thing happened here in central Illinois last year (2014) -- white oak bumper crop followed by anemic white oak acorn production during fall of 2015.
