Can I plant a new cherry tree where a previous one died after 25 years? The stump has been completely removed. Thank you.

Yes, you can; however, that doesn't always mean you should.

I receive this question quite often, and I always give the same response: Simply plant the new tree adjacent to the ground-out stump.
