Black Spots on Maple Trees

Our mature Maple trees have black spots on the leaves and my concern is that we don't want to loose them if it is disease. Is there a local organization that will come to our home to give us advice on what we need to do. Can you direct us as to where and who we can contact? Thank you!

More than likely a fungus called "tar spot." Tar spot is nothing to worry about and you don't need to treat or spray the tree!

Simply rake all your yard leaves and dispose of them "off site" come this autumn.

Best, Jay
