Selling a Black Cherry Yard Tree (IL)

I have a tree which we have recently began to cut down. I have been told it is a wild cherry, the type furniture is made out of and we should check into selling the lumbar from this tree. I was wondering how to go about getting someone to verify that this is in fact a tree for possible sale, and who in my area would be willing buy it.

Hi Rhonda: You probably won't find too many interested buyers in just one black cherry tree, but there's always the chance that a woodworker or custom sawmill operator might be interested.
