What months are best for trimming and cutting dead branches from my giant tree?

Hi Lorri:

The safest time of year to prune oak trees is November through February. These late fall through winter dates will place your tree comfortably outside "oak wilt" season.

Best, Jay

Since it’s been so warm this winter would it be better wait until next year to trim my oak trees, or is it safe to trim through February?
