Hey, I am a small joiner/Carpenter from Aberdeen in Scotland, I require approx 1/2 a shipping container of walnut rough sawn lumber, I’m unsure who would be best to contact and wondered if anyone was selling a few trees, I would happily take whole trees but would prefer if it would be possible to get sawn into large planks, would anyone be able to advise on price, etc ? If you would like to contact me directly my email is ianreid13@hotmail.co.uk or kik is ianreid13. Thanks. Ian

Hi Ian:

Thank you for contacting Univ. of Illinois Extension Forestry.

Listed below are three valid suggestions:

1) Use eBay or the Internet to seek or procure hardwood lumber.

2) Contact a custom sawmill operator / woodworker here in Illinois to see if you can develop a professional relationship with them:

3) Contact a forestry specialist in Scotland to assist you with procuring US hardwoods

Best of luck! Jay
