On April 24, 2017, crop land bordering our property in Ford County was sprayed. Winds were significant and the herbicide drifted over our entire property consisting of about 35 acres. We contacted the farmer and he said the following proportions were used: 24 oz. Roundup, 24 oz. 2-4-D, 3.5 oz. Envive, 6 oz. Dimetric and .67 lb Spray Start to 10 gallons of water. Significant damage occurred over our property, including the black walnut trees. The Illinois Dept. of Agriculture issued a warning letter to the farmer. In spite of the damage, the trees have produced black walnuts. Is it safe to consume these walnuts? We have young grandchildren who love walnuts and do not want to endanger them in any way. Thank you for any information you can provide!
