I have a farm of about 8,000 small (12"-16") trees planted and maintained. Easy flat access. As I have matured faster than the trees, I may need to liquidate. I've considered subcontracting a portable sawmill, and trying to sell them as lumber. The local buyers aren't too interested (won't even come out to see them). Can you give me any advice, or a contact for someone that has been in the same situation

Hi Terry:

Thank you for contacting UI Extension Forestry. My best piece of advice is for you to get in contact with one of your Kansas Forest Service field foresters who can better assist you as a woodland owner in Kansas.

Kansas Forest Service: http://www.kansasforests.org

Best of luck!
