Possible to Sell Black Walnut (NC)

I have two 100+ year old black walnut trees in my yard that I am interested in selling or having removed for the wood. Both trees are appox. 90" in diameter. One is very tall and straight 9 (30"+) with large branching limbs above the 30 ft height. The second tree is slightly larger in diameter and is straight for 20' then has several large branches. There are no visible defects and the trees are solid.

The trees are in an open area and are very accessible for removal. Can anyone give me possible buyers or places to post info. about the trees? Thanks.

Hi Ruth:

Yes, it is possible; however, your two trees may not be suitable for use as sawlogs or veneer logs. Please contact you local NC Extension forestry agent to determine the best course of action!

Best, Jay
