Maple Trees are Dying (IL)

We are losing mature maple trees very quickly. Is there anything we can do. We had a wooded lot and lost many ash trees. Our maples are going now. It makes me want to cry.

Hi Mary:

Sorry to hear about your maple and ash trees. However, without more details about what is going with your maple trees, I would strongly encourage you to reach out to your local IDNR district forester or your local UI Extension Office to determine if you can get some on-site technical assistance.

UI Extension Office Locator: https://extension.illinois.edu/global/where-we-serve

IDNR District Forester: https://www2.illinois.gov/dnr/conservation/Forestry/Pages/default.aspx

Best of luck!
