Can we fertilize forest trees somhow? I need to regrow the trees in areas where ice has damaged everything, and the trees that do grow are beech which are infested with worms. wood peckers are also doing their thing but killing off trees too. We are on a mountain side and oak trees are scarce.

Hi Deb:

I'm not opposed to fertilizing hardwood trees; however, the desired results are often never realized in natural forested conditions.

Therefore, a more realistic and reasonable choice would be to consult with a professional forester in Massachusetts to prescribe a more effective means of regenerating trees on your property.

Best of luck!
