Early Color Change

[Post a Follow Up] [Post to this category]

Recently (June 2024) I have noticed quite a few Maples throughout the Lombard/Chicago Western Suburbs with significant leaf color change ( mostly to red/orange). What could be causing this? Thank you

Early leaf change can be a sign of stress in trees. It is often related to environmental conditions such as too much or too little water, extreme heat, etc. Pathogens or pests can sometimes lead to early color change in trees too. The trees would need to be examined to determine the cause of the issue.
