Elm Tree Utilization

In the near future they will be cutting down a substancial amount of elm trees in Chicago and adjoining suburbs .As a woodworker I would like to pick up a few pieces .Will the wood be acceptable for projects ?

Greetings Stanley, Absolutely! Most municipalities encourage the utilization of urban trees. Utilization of removed urban trees, such as elm, is a great way to reduce disposal costs and landfill space.
