Does IL have a program where they sell saplings? I believe MO does. I'm interested in between 50-75 white pines.

Greetings Brian,

The Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources has two state nurseries: Union Nursery and Mason Nursery. Only landowners with an approved management plan are eligible for "free" nursery stock from the state. Our state nurseries do not sell their nursery stock. Therefore, you may have to go through a private nursery or else order through Missouri Dept. of Conservation.

I almost forgot, most county Soil Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) sell bareroot nursery stock in the spring. You may wish to check with your local SWCD office to see if they still have trees for sale (check local yellow pages).

Hope this helped!
