dividing the Giant Miscanthis

Hello, I would like to know if I could divide the Giant Miscanthis, how and when to do it. Also the same questions about Morning Light Miscanthus. Thanks a lot.

You certainly can divide both Miscanthus and they woudl be treated the same. Divide in May (now is fine) as the leaves start to emerge. Generally the middle starts to die out and the best parts to transplant are on the outside of the clump. Be forwarned they are hard to divide and you may need someone who can handle an ax to get the clump apart. good luck, Sandy
