Ask Extension - Nut Processors (All About Black Walnut)

Are there any nut processors that will take my black walnut nuts and crack/separate them? Hulling would be good too, but I can figure that one out. The alternative is to spend $10k on commercial grade machinery and I imagine there is someone out there would does this for a fee -- I just haven't been able to find them. (Not Hammons, BTW. ;)

I do not know of any large scale nut buyers other than Hammons. You should check with your state's Extension Forestry program or state forester to see if they know of any local buyers.
