Currently have 2/3 acre wooded lot in Johnson County, IL, with combination of large Oak, black Walnut and other tree species. Looking to sell/remove portion of trees to prepare for building. What are the appropriate steps/contacts to engage to achieve this?

Hi Regina:

Due to the small number of trees you have for sale, I would encourage you to simply work with a local logger. Had you wanted to harvest timber off a larger tract of land, I would definitely encourage you to work with a professional forester.

However, in your case, working with a local logger will work just fine.

Below is a list of licensed and bonded timber buyers / loggers here in Illinois:

Best of luck!
