Live Oak Stressed (TX)

Hi, thank you for taking my question. Last September I moved into a new house and they put a Live Oak in the front yard. It was already stressed from the heat. I think possibly the February weather also took it’s toll it is been accumulating foliage very slowly and the top part seems possibly dead. What do you think? Any, it would be appreciated

Hi Rodger:

Newly planted yard trees generally require a fair amount of care and water soon after installation - especially in warmer climates. Supplemental watering at the rate of 6-8 gallons per diameter inch of trunk (per week) is recommended for the first one to two years.
