my neighbor has a row of white pines about 30 years old , last year a storm took 2 of them out , resulting in the loss of privacy screen between our houses which are about 120 from each other. I planted a row of 6’ Green Giants about 16’ away from the older larger tree line . 13 trees all survived but 1, which was replaced last fall with another green giant that was dead with in 4 months. Why have all the other trees i planted survived while 2 in the same location died within a year? Any ideas? Would you plant a 3 rd tree in the same location ?
