Tips of branches die back. Close examination reveals pitch covering the base of the needles. Breaking open the shoot will reveal that the tip has been hollowed out. Annual infestations result in reduced growth and bushiness due to increased lateral bud growth. |

Prune out and destroy the dead branch tips. If necessary use a recommended insecticide. |
