I have a birds's nest fern the leaves are dying, should i water it from the bottom, or does it matter if i water it form the top? What can i do to keep it from dying? Should i set it outside? The inside stays real cool from the air-conditioner. Lillian

These ferns are tropical and need high humidity. Your ac is keeping the humidity too low. Set plant on tray of gravel with water in it (do not let water come in contact with bottom of pot), or you can frequently mist plants all day long or you can use a baby's vaporizer next to plant to raise the humidity. Do not take out side or insects and slugs may attack plant. Plant needs excellent drainage - DO NOT over water.
