Planting Perennials

How late into fall can I plant perennials? I won't be in my new house until early November and I have numerous perennials that I've brought from my last house that are in now containers. My perennials include: bergenias, hardy geraniums, mums, asters, August lily hosta, and brunnera.

Any tips on getting these plants to survive a late planting?

November is late for planting even in Springfield Illinois. Suggest you leave plants in their pots and sink the pots into the ground so that the soil in the pot is level with the soil outside the pot. This will protect the roots from severe freezing and thawing if pots were left abve ground and will not cause the roots to be disturbed just before the ground should freeze. Next spring - plant them were you want them to grow.
