Ash and Emerald Ash Borer

I know there are two products a homeowner can use for the emerald ash borer. They are (1) Bayer Advanced Multi-Insect Killer (a spray), and (2) Bayer Advanced Tree and Shrub Insect Control (a systemic). How do I determine which to use? Am I supposed to use both? My ash tree has a 23-inch circumference.

Thank you.

Hi Craig The entomologists are telling those of us in the field that they feel that the systemic product is more likely to be the better choice. There is a new product that has recently been approved for use in Illinois called Tree-äge™ (pronounced "triage"). It has to be applied by a licensed professional. You need only use one product.
