MY PLANT HAS BROWN SPOTS ON THE LEAVES. I THINK IS FUNGUS. I HEAR THAT A FUNGICIDAL FOLIAR SPRAY IS THE WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM ALONG WITH LESS WATER AND BETTER LIGHT. IS A SYSTEMIC TREATMENT ALSO A GOOD IDEA?

Dear Sue: A topical fungicidal spray will be just fine. You are on the right track by improving the plant's growing conditions. This will make a healthy, strong plant, less likely to have problems. Leaves that have been impacted by the fungus may later yellow and die. This is normal.

Good Luck! Richard Hentschel
