burning bush

It is early August here. Can I trim my burning bush it is a little to big and is blocking view of the road. If so what do I use to trim it with and how far back can I cut it.

Since you have a large older bush, I would recommend using some lopping shears for pruning. Burning bushes can take fairly severe pruning and will recover in a couple of years. I would cut back your bush in the spring while the plant is still dormant. It would have the next growing season to recover.
