TO REDUCE THE BUDS DROPPING AND THE LEAVES YELLOWING,WOULD YOU SUGGEST THAT A ROOM HUMIDIFIER WOULD HELP THIS SITUATION ? I AM USING A 5-12-5 FERTILIZER AND CAREFUL WATERING.

Gardenia trees are difficult to grow indoors. A humidifier may help indoors. Keep the soil moist. They also need bright light indoors. They do best in temperatures between 68-74 during the day and 60 degrees F at night. They may drop buds if the humidity is too low, if there is not enough light, if they are exposed to a draft or if they are under or over watered. As I said they are difficult to grow indoors! Good Luck!
