This pine-type tree turns brown in the fall, but comes back beautifully green in the spring. It has already started to turn brown, beginning the latter part of July. Is this due to the cooler temps we had in July or do we have a major problem with it?

Hello Sharon: Many plants this season have been impacted by the weather and you are likely seeing that on your Larch. Early fall color on many plants can be seed right now. If by chace your plant has not recieved enough water, I would suggest a strong watering and certainly should be done late in the season as a good management practice anyway.

Hope this information is helpful, Richard
