I planted 12 hybrid tea roses this past spring. After they bloomed well this summer, we have discovered that some are too close together. When is the best time to move these roses?

Let your roses overwinter where they are by protecting the crown area and cutting back the tops to 12 -18 inches or so. Early next spring before growth resumes, go ahead and carefully dig them up and move them to the desired location. Incorporate organic matter into the soil when planting and water them in well. The roses you move may be behind those you did not, but will have caught up by the end of next summer
