Seek green tomatoes

Been trying to locate somewhere to purchase 2 doz med to large green tomatoes for a family Christmas relish, but all gone from the local farmers in Iowa, and Il. Any Idea who to contact? Thank you.

Hello Thomas, Having made several inquiries in the Quad Cities Area and best I can offer is to visit some of the Ethic food stores near you, who carry a variety of vegetables not found in the bigger main stream grocery stores. If size is not an issue, consider a "husk tomato", also called a tomatillo. If you can locate a grower extending the season using a "high tunnel" system, he may still have tomatoes in production and would have green ones. Sincerely, Richard Hentschel
