I'm planting some knockout roses along the side of my deck in the back yard. I would like to have something behing them to hide the desk and also something in front of them. What kind of plants would you suggest?

It is difficult to recommend plants when I know nothing about the conditions of your site. I would suggest that you go to our HortAnswers website http://urbanext.illinois.edu/hortanswers/. There you can select from various types of plants. You can put in information about the size of plant, and flower colors you want as well as site information and the website will give you a list of possible plants that meet your criteria. From there you can look at the plants and see which ones appeal to you.
