I want to know if it is necessary to paint the cut edges of tubors once they are cleaned and separated from the non rysomed ones? I was told this is to prevent rot. What is used to paint the raw cuts with?

Hi Ralph There really is no strong need to treat them with anything. As you are dividing irises and cutting them apart, just let them set out of the ground for a day to allow the cut edges to 'cure' or seal. Keep them out of the sun during this process and keep them dry.
