While picking my bush beans this am noticed lots of small holes in leaves & bugs flying around. We have had a lot of rain the past couple days with humidity. Is there something I can apply that is safe. Thank You

Hello Margaret:

There are a number of foliage feeding insects that attack our garden plants. As you noted actual holes in the leaves, an insectide containing carbaryl will work. Please read and follow the label instructions, especially note how many days after you treat before you can harvest your beans.

Sincerely, Richard Hentschel
