Hi, I moved to Greenwood, IN and bought a home there (I am a 1978 Grad of the UofI :) ). There seems to be some fox tail ?? and clover in the back yard. I have sprayed and it doesn't seem to really affect it. Is there something else that I can try? I appreciate any help in recovering this poor yard.

If you are attempting to control a perennial grassy weed with an extensive root system, then it may take repeated applications of an appropriate herbicide to manage the weeds. Clover by nature is a hard to control weed for the same reason and would require a different material than what you are using on the grass. In fact if you are using a broadleaved weed control product on the clover it will not have any impact on the grass and alternatively a specific grass herbicide will not have impacted the clover. A non -specific herbicide will control both. Additional conditions that will affect how well the plants are controlled are time of year and size of weeds. Smaller plants are more readily controlled and most weeds need to be actively growing. August finds us with mature plants that are not actively growing. To be sure you are using an appropriate control product; the weeds would need to be identified.
