It is not uncommon to have weed grasses sprout up between the edges of the sod and even within the sod. Annual grasses like foxtails are common as is crabgrass. Both of these are annuals and will die with frost. Perennials grasses pose a problem if left to compete with the new sod. The two common ones are Quackgrass and Tall Fescue. Both of these could be regrowing from root pieces left in the soil when the yard was prepared for sod or they could be sprouting from seed like the annuals. There are no selective herbicides to remove perennial grasses as your sod is perennial as well. if you can, pick them out as soon as you see them. If from seed you will get the entire plant. If from roots you may have to repeat the process until they no longer appear. Allowing them to remain and grow will just let them get stronger.
