We are proposing to use a mix of red and yellow dogwood shrubs to provide a screen adjacent to a split rail fence and bike path. What plant spacing shoud we use? We will be planting 3' container plants.

These dogwoods are going to grow to be at least 6 feet wide and high. If the desire is to make a screen quickly, plant at 5-6 foot spacings. If you want to allow the plants to develope a fuller size before they grow into one another add another foot or more to 7-8 feet apart. Shrub dogwoods grow rapidaly once established.
