I have many different tomatoes in my garden from cherry to Roma to beefsteak. All of my plants have many green tomatoes on them, but none of them have ripened. First, can you tell me why this is happening? Is it because of the weather we have had (I do live in Chicago)? Next, what can I do to make them ripen? Thank you in advance!

While the cool summer was great for us, it's not so great for many plants. Tomatoes ripen best at 75 degrees F. Also, extremely cool temperatures prevent the flowers from pollinating and setting. The warmer temps at the end of August should've hastened the process. There really is nothing to do - be patient.
