Sap from oak tree

Hi, we have a oak tree problem of sap. Is that a seasonal problem or is the tree dying? It is 100+ Years.

Here in the Midwest, aphids are typically the cause of sap dripping down on everything under the canopy. If there is a structural issue like a broken out branch or an acute crotch angle that has pulled apart the sap comes from those locations. Not being familiar with western oaks, I would suggest you contact a certified arborist to determine the cause and potential treatment program
