Bailey Red Twigs

It is early October with temps in the high 40's to low 50's. My Bailey Red twigs were planted in June of 2014, I want to prune them to even the tops out along the four red twigs. Can i prune them now and is trimming them 12-18 inches ok?

Once the leaves have fallen, you could do some tip pruning using hand pruners to generally "even out" the plants so they have a similar height. Try and keep them as natural looking as possible by varying the heights of cuts within each shrub so the re- growth is natural looking. I do not have enough information to know if you can safely remove 12-18 inches of growth from the canopies.
