I live at approx. 5000 feet altitude and snow covers the ground generally from Dec to early March. I would like to scatter some wildflower seed on the property. Given the conditions can I scatter the seed this fall or should I wait until spring? Thank you!

Given that you will have snow cover for the time period you indicate, fall planting is okay. It's only if the seed is exposed with dry conditions that it wouldn't be advisable.
