Hi, I have two newly planted boxwood shrubs that I want to protect for the winter. I'd like to know how to do this. Thank you

You should be sure they are well watered for the winter by irrigating them just before you remove the hose for the winter. Buckets of water work too. You should also consider a temporary windbreak to lessen the wind damage to the foliage. this does not have to be elaborate. Burlap or an old bedsheet works well. this could be constructed with 2x2 lumber in a triangle fashion leaving a gap between the fabric and foliage or even lightly wrapped. You might also consider an anti desiccant that can be sprayed on the foliage late in the season and again very early in the spring.
