Creeping charlie

I read your advice about creeping Charlie control using a preemergence now. But I've been told that since my lawn is fescue, because it's shade, I will kill all the grass also. If that's true, what should I use. I have lost the fight in hand weeding it out of the lawn.

Creeping Charlie is one of the harder to manage broadleaved weed in the lawn. Most control products used are of a post emergence nature. Since there are several, a blanket statement about damaging preferred grasses cannot be made. The product label is your best source of information regarding toxicity to desirable grasses. Typically these products are applied to the Creeping Charlie during periods of active growth, Mid May and early June or September. More than one treatment is often needed.
