Getting amaryllis to re-bloom can be tricky. I assume you are growing them out-of-doors since you are in Georgia. They need a rich soil and like to be fertilized about every 6 weeks during the summer. The bulb needs to be exposed unlike most other bulbs that are usually buried. They should receive semi-shade and adequate moisture. When flowering is finished, the leaves that appear need to remain on the plant so they can photosynthesize and build the bulb back up for re-bloom. If they are container-grown, the treatment is similar. Following bloom, the foliage needs to remain on the plant. In fall, the bulbs are given a dormancy of several months before they are forced into bloom again. I'm wondering if you are removing the foliage too soon, and/or not giving them the fertilizer boost they need.
