Hostas

something is biting off the leaves of my hostas at the base of the plant, not eating the leaf, just leaving them on the ground. It is a ragged cut. If they cut all the leaves off, the root is still intact. I have been spraying the area with liquid fence to keep the rabbits and deer away. Any ideas?

The most likely cuprits for biting the leaves off hosta are rabbits and deer. Rabbits make a clean cut while deer make ragged cut, so it sounds like the problem are the deer. Be sure you are following the label directions.
