Leaf Spot on Dogwood, Isanti

We planted two Dogwood, Isanti this spring as foundation plants on the northwest side of the house. The soil is sandy and well drained. We were out of town over the last 4 weeks during which time the rainfall in Lake Village was extreme (I'm told 19 inches). When we returned both plants have leaf spots. The leaves on one are still deep green. However many leaves on the second plant have yellowed and some are dried...dead? Should I prune plants back. Should I use an anti-fungal? Which one? Any things else ? Thank you.

While both are new to the location, one is clearly doing better. the dfferences can e in the root systems, exposure, available soil nutrition, etc. Leaf spot diseases can occur when conditions favor fungal growth and impact leaves that are present. Future growth once conditions change should be fine. Leaf spot diseases may be the cause, the other might be actual tissue desiccation from being overly wet where the soil oxygen was limited due to displacement by water. Without soil oxygen, the movement of water up and into leaf tissue cannot occur.
