Wilting flowers

I have a Rose of Sharon now three years in my garden. I trimmed it back last year and now I have a ton of buds. It has just started to bloom with light purple and pinkish flowers. The purple flowers seem to wilt in a matter of days while the pink ones seem to be lasting. What could be the issue with the purple flowers? Thank you.

The norm is for the flowers to last about 3 days. Some may hold on longer - that's just the difference with varieties.
