I have to mow around about a dozen black walnut trees, with massive nut produce every year. Would like to reduce nuts or may have to just cut them down, but they are enormous trees. Have 20 acres of nut tree woods, but have to cut grass around several walnut trees. need some advice, hate to cut trees down.

There are products to reduce/remove fruit from ornamental plants but to my knowledge black walnut is not listed. The problem with spraying mature trees is that it is difficultue to get entire coverage of the tree, especially at the top where most of the flowers would be located. Additionally, the timing has to be precise, and with the flowers of walnut being so small, it would be easy to overlook the state of development.
